MARÍA GARCÍA DE JAIME: ROMANTIC NATURE

Romanticism in its youngest form is brought by María García de Jaime, who shares with Cabinett her vision on love towards her partner and her son.

It’s Valentines week and we have butterflies in our stomach already, we want tol ove and feel loved and, also, escape the stressful routine to enjoy a break in time with that special person, whether they’re a partner, a mother, a son or daughter or a friend. A bucolic setting in the middle of the mountains evokes a particular movie in which long printed dresses, vichy prints and cowboy boots are the main character.

María García de Jaime blends in with the rural environment which, alongside the sea, gives her true peace, invites her to forget everything and gives her the necessary energy to keep going. “I think it’s necessary to sometimes escape the routine to switch off and gain strength for what’s to come –she comments–. Being in contact with nature makes me stop, think and breathe, three things we should all do in order for everything to be ok”.

“We still love each other like before, and our relationship has changed because our lives have changed, for sure, but I think love is never-ending”.

María represents perfectly the rustic style stripped of artífices, a style she has owned through time and that, now, reflects her personality. “I dress quite like this, simple, romantic and with a vintage touch… I love it! –she assures–. Whenever I can I grab one of my grandma’s shirt or a cardigan and I mix it up with something more trendy”.

Her warmth and friendly smile can charm anyone, and it’s inevitable to not be touched by her optimistic life philosophy. Three years ago, when María and her boyfriend, Tomás Páramo, were 19 years old they had little Tomás and all of a sudden their world of two became a peculiar, but wonderful, universe of three. In today’s society it’s rare to be ton long-lasting love, everyhting moves very fast and sometimes what matters is unclear, but there are cases like Maria’s and her #LittleYoungFamily that redefine the general vision of love so that they can fight to make one of their own. “Tomás and me still love each other like before, and our relationship has changed because our lives have changed, for sure, but I think love is never-ending”, she explains. “They’re different types of loves. Loving a child is something inexplicable, only the ones who have kids know what I’m talking about, and the three of us love each other very much”.

After four years together, María confesses she still loves sentimental gifts and, eventhough they’re both very thoughtful, she admits Tomás is the romantic one in the relationship. “He’s not romantic like in the movies though, he’s romantic in his own way and I love that”, she says. His last gesture? Ask María to marry him in her favourite city, Rome.

“We went to the Garden of the Orange Trees in Rome, a beautiful place where you can see the whole city and the sunset, Tomás is crazy about sunsets and I thought it was totally normal that he took me there to see the sunset, although I was very surprised by how stunning the place was –she tells–. He started to say beautiful things and when he finished he went a little quiet and took out the ring, he got on his knees and asked me if I wanted to marry him. I didn’t even say yes nor look at the ring, I was just screaming over and over that I was getting married, I was thrilled. It was a beautiful day that I would never forget!”.
