EUGENIA SILVA PRESENTS THE COOL COMMITTEE

I have the best job in the world. It has everything: the woman is fantastically recognised, it is very well paid, you’re surrounded by beautiful things...

Eu, Gisele Bündchen said in an interview that if she could go back in time, she wouldn’t be a model. How about you? What would you have done?

I think I have the best job in the world. It has everything: the woman is fantastically recognised, it is very well paid, you’re surrounded by beautiful things, you usually do photoshoots or runway shows in spectacular locations, you travel, you are your own boss, you meet wonderful people from all over the world… I don’t see anything wrong with it!

What does it mean to have good life quality for you?

To be able to manage my time and to fly first class! Haha

Your best day would be…

Any day of my life can be the best one. I feel very fortunate. Sometimes I’m very tired, sometimes worried, sometimes bursting with joy, but any day, just for the fact that I get to live it, is already worth it.

EUGENIA SILVA

“Actually this photoshoot is very special to me because of what it means. A new stage, a beginning, a dream!”

Would you go back to the runway?

Never!!

What is left to do for you?

So much!!! I hope God gives me a long life because I want to do a lot of things!

Is a model’s life hard?

Loneliness is hard, the pressure, but now things have changed. I would communicate with my family via fax from Bahamas. Only a few people had a cell phone, I bought one pretty soon so I could talk to them. My siblings, my grandma, they would send me beautiful letters to New York because I barely ever went back to Spain. I still keep those letters. I would travel with just my books, nothing else to entertain myself with. Now is different, phone, iPad, everything is easy and is nearby. This helps a lot.

Would you have liked to have social media 15 years ago?

No, I have a love-hate relationship with social media. I think it’s more difficult to focus now. In the past I would have a plan, I would follow it, I would work, magazines would be published four months later, I would wait anxiously at the kiosk… I studied a lot because I couldn’t do much more besides going out and partying with my model friends… If I would have had all the modern technology I would have probably gotten distracted. Nowadays everything is immediate.

Formentera or Extremadura?

Both, I can’t choose.

Would you like it if your children follow your steps?

Whatever they want to do I’ll approve it and if not, we can always talk about it. They should do something that makes them happy. Life is too short, we can’t be wasting it by doing things we don’t like!

How do you see yourself in 10 years?

I don’t know!!! The same as now but 10 years older! Haha

Are you afraid of getting older?

I’m afraid of what getting older means, not the action itself or the number. I’m afraid of mental and physical deterioration.

Do you have any interesting or funny anecdote that people don’t know?

No! Hahaha

Which photoshoot, of all the ones you have done, do you remember more fondly?

Actually this photoshoot is very special to me because of what it means. A new stage, a beginning, a dream!

How do you see the digital world nowadays?

The digital world evolves too fast for me. I still write down everything on my paper diary and notebook.

If you could choose a place to retire, where would it be?

Wherever my family is.

Do you usually travel with all the “just in case” items?

Yes. With all of them. I will never learn to pack a suitcase correctly.

A flaw of yours? (not physical)

Super controlling
super tidy
super annoying
and a thousand etceteras.
